Introducing PDF Accessibility Checker 2024

PAC 2024

PDF Accessibility Checker (PAC) 2024 is a free tool that can be used to check PDF documents for accessibility and compliance with the following standards:

ISO 14289 (PDF/UA)
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), version 2.2, level AA

Additionally, PAC provides a set of quality checks. These are not an official standard but recommended best practices to avoid errors.

Note on the WCAG versions

PAC's technical tests are based on version 2.1 of WCAG. WCAG version 2.2 contains improvements that are not relevant for PDF documents, but only for websites or PDF viewer programs. In terms of content, PAC therefore also checks version 2.2 of WCAG.
